Boat Strapping: 10 Simple Steps

Watch the boat strapping video!

  1. Before strapping, make sure that there is a firm rubber strip permanently attached to the rack. Never use old or worn straps!
  2. Gently feed the strap over the boat, logo side up.
  3. Pull the cam buckle under the arm and feed back across the boat.
  4. Feed the end of the strap through the back of the cam buckle. Position the buckle under the arm of the trailer.
  5. Using your super strength, tighted the strap by pulling down and to the right. Once tight, "pluck" the strap to listen for a low, hollow, vibrating sound.
  6. Thread the end of the strap behind the 2 vertical straps
  7. Wrap around the front, back across the vertical straps.
  8. Thread behind the vertical straps.
  9. Thread the strap downward and to the right, through the center of the tie.
  10. Using that super strength again, tighted the strap like you did before, pulling down and to the right. Tie off the strap, and you're done!

MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR STRAPS BEFORE HITTING THE ROAD!
