Congratulations to our naval architect, Manolo Ruiz  De Elvira, member of the winning BMW Oracle USA team.   In a dominating performance of  both boat design and on the water performance, the BMW Oracle returns the America’s Cup to the USA for the first time in 15 years.   Both crews were rich in experience and trained very hard to succeed but it was the radical design of BMW Oracle that made the difference.  If  you want to see the boat that Manolo helped design click here.   Manolo has quite the record:   three consecutive America’s Cup,  three victories (he worked for Alinghi  for the two previous AC)!   Manolo brings this same creativity and genius to Vespoli World Class Racing Shells.  To learn more about the design of the revolutionary E hull check out this short video.

Vespoli USA’s naval architect and their structural engineer are on opposite teams for the 2010 America’s Cup races going on now in Valencia, Spain. Manolo Ruiz Elvira, designer of the Vespoli E hull is part of the
BMW Oracle team and Dirk Kramers is the lead structural engineer for Alinghi and creator of our Rhino skin. Vespoli’s relationship with these two experts began in 2003 and together we have created the revolutionary E hull with Rhino skin. Elvira and Kramers worked together as part of Alinghi to win the two last cups. After Alinghi’s second consecutive victory in 2007, Elvira left to work for Oracle, the USA challenger. From the early racing it appears that Oracle has a clear design advantage over Alinghi and will likely win the best 2 out of 3 races tomorrow and become the America’s cup champion. Vespoi’s access to the best minds in hull design and structural design is unique in the rowing world. It is through our alliance with these experts that we are able to build the fastest, toughest and most comfortable rowing shells in the world. Row the Rhino!

Before the crack of dawn tomorrow TEAM VESPOLI service heads west!  Hoping for good weather, we expect to arrive in California by Monday to begin our west coast deliveries.   Guess our arrival time and win a T-shirt!

An enthusiastic and inquisitive group of students from Academy Hill, a small, independent school in Springfield, MA, made the trip to the Vespoli factory today as part of  their science education.   Their teacher, Mr. Eric Bowman, wanted his students to experience  “real world” applications of the material presented in his class.

could keep all the HOCR competitors from tearing up the course!  An extra special shout out goes to the CAL men in the Champ 8 & the YALE women in the Champ 8!  These crews were the top collegiate finishers and each gave the stacked international crews a great run for the title!  We also can’t forget MARITIME who broke the CRI stranglehold in the  Junior Girls 8.  CAL, YALE & MARITIME  rowed in  v1’s with wings! Congrats to them and the many other winners in Vespoli boats  (who will be highlighting in the days to come).
